Peter Bradley Adams, a solo artist currently living in Brooklyn, NY, has relaxation down to a science. Or better put, he is like a doctor prescribing tranquility in the form of nostalgic and serene ballads. On his new album Traces he creates peaceful travels starting with opening track "Family Name" to its close at "Awaken."

On "Family Name" Adams pieces together a soft melody with a slew of instruments including cello and mandolin. Seducing the ear drum with beautiful backing vocals from Angel Snow and Katie Herzig this first song brings a Fall kind of feeling to the air. The second track "For You" is an acoustic track starring Bradley's cushioned vocals. This song encompasses the endearing lyrics "If your lover ever leaves you / And you find yourself with no one left to lose/ You don'’t have to be alone/ Take the road that leads you home/ And I'll be waiting there for you."

"From The Sky" opens with a faint piano melody. Staying prominent throughout the song, the beauty of these keys is something one would expect to find pieced into a James Horner score. But placed with the simplicity of low-key whistles and harp here, it sounds ever more bewitching. On "Heart Of A Girl" our cello makes an appearance again. This time together with tenor guitar played by Lex Price. The deepness of these strings keeps the song mellow, never moving too fast. Like clockwork Adams' vocals slide along with expert resonance.

The album is a road trip, a journey, the kind of music you would want playing while totally lost in thought. From the leafy artwork on the album cover to the soft finger plucking of acoustic guitar, Peter Bradley Adams as created an album you will want to have with you through the next few months and years to come after. As leaves change color outside your window make sure you have Traces backing it up.
